Arterial blood gas sampling (ABG).
This is a core procedure from RCEM credentialing curriculum, DOPS need to be completed to evidence the clinician can carry out this procedure at entrustment level 3.

Allen’s Test
Prior to each ABG test a modified Allen’s test should be carried out to ensure adequate perfusion to the hand is maintained even if there has been complications during radial artery sampling.
